Snow Typical

Well after two weeks of holidays without any sign of snow we awoke today, the first day back at school and work to find a blanket of white. Having managed to traverse the treacherous roads to drop Matthew at pre-school I returned home. Heather doesn't return to school until Wednesday and she was itching to get outside, we have agreed however to wait until we have had lunch as the wrath of Matthew would be incurred should we venture out before he is home.
She did tell me however ' See Mummy I told you it was still Christmas!' not a welcome comment after the histrionics which accompanied the removal of the tree and decorations yesterday, now all I need to convince her is that it can snow when it isn't Christmas!
Lucy seems to be taking the Lazy Baby way of moving, she rolls and sort of commando crawls, she has the right idea of moving but perhaps the slipperiness of the wooden floor is putting her off having a go at pulling herself up or pulling her knees up under her and crawling. Matthew seems to have evolved into a human being that talks and everything. None of us can pinpoint when it happened but we have realised that we are now having proper conversations with him and far less tantrums as he is able to get his point across by conventional methods.
Heather is reading a book a day at the moment and Santa Claus seems to have got his presents right when he delivered her a whole host of Rainbow Fairy books, finally some books she can understand but still challenge her, this has been our main problem, soon I am sure we will move onto books about horses, her other favourite thing.
Also to everyone a happy 2009 and in these times of economic gloom I hope everyone comes through OK. As for resolutions - I am aiming to actually make some money from my writing and my book if it ever comes out, to be a good mum and do things with the children when I can, healthy diet and try to write each day, we'll see which one last the longest...
